Dry Needling
Targeted orthopaedic relief for muscle pain
- Dry Needling is a specialized, modern technique performed by our trained physical therapists to quickly and effectively relieve muscle pain and stiffness.
- This process involves inserting a thin, sterile needle (similar to an acupuncture needle) directly into muscular trigger points, which are often the source of chronic tightness and pain. The goal is to elicit a local twitch response, helping the muscle relax, improving blood flow, and immediately reducing pain.
- We offer dry needling as a cash-based treatment option, allowing our therapists the freedom to incorporate this powerful technique whenever it will best benefit your recovery, without the restrictions often imposed by insurance plans. Please contact our office for the current session rate.
Non-Insurance Based Services Including Cash Based Programs
Recently, we have decided to provide cash based physical therapy services through our subsidiary program, Prolete Health and Performance. This change emerged from ongoing decreases in reimbursement for physical therapy from insurance companies, and the lack of freedom in care that affects both patients and therapists. However, it is still possible to receive our care with the use of your specific out-of-network benefits, where you may end up paying the same or even less when compared to your original in-network cost. Our main goal with this model is to provide you with the best possible care, completely focused on your needs. This approach allows us to:
What is a Superbill and how does it work?
A superbill is a detailed itemized receipt which is given after payment which details codes provided by your healthcare provider during a treatment session.
It’s very straightforward. After each session, you’ll pay a set fee. Once your therapist provides services billed, we can provide you with a detailed “superbill” that includes all the necessary codes and information about your visit. This can be provided to you within one week of your appointment.
You can then submit this superbill directly to your insurance company for potential reimbursement, depending on your plan’s out-of-network benefits.
We are always here to help you understand this process and answer any questions you might have. Your health is our top priority, and we believe this model helps us deliver the highest quality of care.
Contact our front desk today for a superbill for your session. You may be surprised to see the amount of reimbursement provided by your specific insurance company.
How to submit a superbill to your insurance company
- Receive Your Superbill: After you pay for your physical therapy session, the clinic will give you a detailed superbill. This document acts as an itemized receipt for your services. It will include all the information your insurance company needs, such as your diagnosis code, the treatment codes for your session, and the clinic’s tax ID number.
- Check Your Out-of-Network Benefits: Before you submit, call the member services number on the back of your insurance card. Tell them you are trying to submit a claim for an “out-of-network” physical therapy visit and ask about your specific benefits. They will explain your deductible and how much they will reimburse for services.
- Get the Claim Form: Most insurance companies have a claim form you’ll need to fill out. You can usually find this form on their website or by asking member services to mail one to you.
- Submit the Superbill and Form: Fill out the claim form and attach your superbill to it. You can typically submit these documents online through your insurance portal or by mailing them to the address provided on the form.
- Wait for Reimbursement: The insurance company will process your claim and, if you have out-of-network benefits, they will send a check directly to you for the reimbursed amount.
It’s a process that puts you in control, allowing you to maximize any out-of-network benefits your plan may offer.
